The Service Now team asked me to create a ticket here. I'm copying INC39182254 ticket details here. Please let me know how the survey/project can be restored. I need this asap as the survey email was sent out yesterday and people are trying to open the survey.

live survey was deleted. customers received survey invite today but it is not longer available
Hello, I have a live survey using customer voice. When I checked the current submitted responses, I accidentally clicked on "new survey" and a new survey was created. When I then deleted that survey, the new one as well as the existing live survey were deleted. I see no surveys in my account. I need the survey restored as people have the link to answer and it is not longer available. Survey is called "Portfolio Tracker Customer Feedback".

Do you have the Recycle Bin(Preview) active in your Environment? If so check if its restorable from there. The other option is a Tool within XRM Toolbox called Recycle Bin - Failing that you will need to restore a copy of your Environment and export -> import the data from there or get MS Support to do it?

    Hello Yvonne Klaue,

This is a critical situation, especially with a live survey link already distributed to customers. Here's a breakdown of how to approach restoring your deleted Customer Voice survey, along with steps you should take immediately:

    Immediate Actions:

    1. Stop Further Distribution: If possible, immediately stop any further distribution of the survey link. This will prevent more customers from encountering the error.
    2. Communicate with Customers (If Possible): If you have a way to communicate with customers who might have received the email, send a brief message explaining that there's a temporary issue with the survey link and that you're working to resolve it.

    3.

    Restoration Process:

    • Customer Voice Recycle Bin (Check First):

      • Customer Voice, like many Microsoft 365 services, might have a recycle bin.
      • Carefully explore the Customer Voice interface to see if there's a "Deleted Surveys" or "Recycle Bin" section.
      • If found, check if your "Portfolio Tracker Customer Feedback" survey is there and restore it

    • Microsoft Support (Crucial):

      • This is your primary course of action. Because this is urgent, and the survey was live, Microsoft support needs to be involved.
      • Escalate the Service Now ticket (INC39182254) to Microsoft support immediately.
      • Provide them with all the details from your Service Now ticket, including:
        • The survey name ("Portfolio Tracker Customer Feedback").
        • The approximate time the survey was deleted.
        • The environment (Corp).
        • The urgency of the situation.
        • The fact that survey emails were already sent.
      • Emphasize the urgency and the impact on customers

    • Dataverse Auditing (If Enabled):

      • If auditing is enabled in your Dataverse environment, there might be audit logs that record the deletion of the Customer Voice survey.
      • Provide these logs to Microsoft support if available.

      •
    • Possible Dataverse Backup (Less Likely):

      • Customer Voice surveys are stored in Dataverse.
      • If your organization has Dataverse backups, there's a slim chance that the survey could be restored from a backup.
      • However, this is a complex and time-consuming process, and it's not guaranteed to work.
      • This is something that Microsoft support would need to assist with.

      •

    Important Considerations:

    • Time Sensitivity: Every minute counts in this situation. The faster you contact Microsoft support, the better the chances of restoring the survey.
    • Data Loss: There's a risk of data loss, especially if the survey cannot be restored.
    • Prevention: After the survey is restored (or if you have to recreate it), implement measures to prevent accidental deletions in the future.

      • Review user permissions for Customer Voice.
      • Consider adding a confirmation dialog before deleting surveys.
      • Educate users on the process of creating new surveys.

      •

    Key Steps:

    1. Stop distribution.
    2. Communicate with customers.
    3. Escalate INC39182254 to Microsoft support immediately.
    4. Provide all details.
    5. Check Customer Voice recycle bin.
    6. Provide Dataverse audit logs (if available).

I hope this helps you get your survey restored quickly.
