I am trying to modify the BDM for Purchase Order Excel Template but couldn't. I am getting an error. ("The active template version is being currently edited.") I try to edit it openly online Excel for a new document.

i followed this link (Customize business document templates with no-code in Dynamics 365 Finance & SCM - Microsoft Dynamics AX Community)

Hi Sajjad,

If you change the status to complete, do you still get this error? It sounds like possibly a flag is not being set correctly in the database, but I am not sure. It could be that changing the status would update the flag for the attachment. If not, you may want to open a support ticket with Microsoft and have them investigate this further.

did you find a workaround for this ?

I also cannot click on the edit button on a business document in the "Business document management" form. The document is supposed to open however instead it redirects to the office365 default site without opening anything.

Hi Ashwin P,

Please try to log into Office 365 (Excel, Word) and have those programs open before you click the edit button.

Alternatively, navigate to the electronic reporting workspace from where you can open and download the attachment directly.

I posted a lot of examples on my blog.

If needed, have a look to get an idea how this works from within the ER report designer.
