Basically, TFS is not supported in shared AX environments. It can be done, though, but there are significant difference between versions. Please tell us what version of AX do you use. And you really should consider using isolated environments, they has many advantages (e.g. allow parallel work on some objects).

    Hi martin,

Thanks for reply, will be using AX2012 version.

Basically we need to set up Dev. env for individual developer where TFS will be used for version controlling.

If you are suggesting isolated env then how can each developer maitain/merge code at server level.

What minimum config. required for same and can we install AOS on win-7 ?

By shared AX environment I meant a single AX environment for all developers and by isolated environments the situation when each developer has his own instance. The call the same TFS server, of course. If you're going to use isolated environments, ignore that part of my post.

You should start with the documented requirements:

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 System Requirements

System Requirements for Team Foundation Server

There is really not much specific about TFS in AX. Development machines simply needs to have Team Explorer installed and be able to connect to TFS. Find details in Version Control Setup for Microsoft Dynamics AX [AX 2012].

AOS is not supported on client OS, as documented in System Requirements. I don't know if it is technically possible, I've never tried it.
