Setting upp Australian GST/BAS for AX2009

Hi,

Our customer has acquired a Company in Australia and therefore they need to set up tax in AX2009. The legal entity in Australia is a small Company which should have a straight foward set up for the GST.

1. We have applied the country specific settings for Australia which makes the Australian BAS report available.

2. I am trying to use the below link for help to set it up but I am stuck on the reporting codes becuase I am used to see a Swedish report layout when I set up the Sales tax reporting codes but no layout is available. I am confused because the Australian BAS report is not generated from the normal Slaes tax payment function, it is generated from its own function.

https://ax.help.dynamics.com/en/wiki/business-activity-statement-bas-overview/

Should a layout be available for Australia or is it just the Australian BAS report? How do I connect the sales tax code to the report?

Can anyone describe in short or post a link describing the setup?

Thank you for the information. Will take a look at customer source and I already have a local AX Consultant in mind if needed.

    Hello David,

On customer source there should be still some finance localization documents available that might help you in addition to what you have already found.

Yet, if you are not familiar with Australian GST, I would highly recommend that you get somebody involved (tax advisor, local AX Consultant) who has a deep knowledge of this stuff.

This might cost something in terms of money and time but you will certainly ensure that things are setup properly according to local legislation, which can avoid a lot of trouble later on.

    All the best,

    Ludwig
