Emails from batch Job End/Error/Cancel not working

If a batch job, ends, fails or gets canceled I have it set to send me an emai and popup an alert.  I get the alert but no email. When I go to the alert, it has the "E-mail message" unchecked.

Noone is receiving emails from the batch jobs.

Regular alert rules are emailing me properly.

The Batch job server is a seperate AOS.

Thoughts?

It does not show in the form "E-Mail sending status" at all.

Hi Chris, I've just started playing around with batching in AX2009. Had an error last night and I received an email but it went straight into Junk on Outlook 2007. Get your network guy to have a look if they are caught by your spam filter in any way!? They are sent by yourself (with a different alias) to yourself. All I did was to allow this sender (myself) to send safe emails. The fact that the email checkbox is unticked is a bit strange though.

The problem was that there was a username in the smtp authentication.  fixing the username fixed the problem.

The strange part is that alert rules were working but not email alerts for batch jobs.  Now all is working.

    hi Chris,

Request input from you as i am also working on the Email Sedning options via SMTP.

Our client has a requirement where after printing an AX Out of box report on Screen, they want to send it to Email recipient (manually specifying the email id of receiver). We used outlook for this procedure, but client seems to be unhappy over the pop up which comes when we use Outlook.

We tried sending mails using SMTP, but it needed some changed to Sys classes. Can you please help me with any way we can send out these reports as mail without changing any code?

    Please help.

    Hi Chris,

I am trying to solve the similar issue that you mentioned in here. When you said you fix the user name in the smtp authentication, the correct username is the same as the name that you setup in the Email parameter" in AX?
