Hi.
I am wondering about unit of measure schedule ID in item maintenance window.
We currently installed GP dynamic 2018 in our company and we have about 10,000 items in data.
I see all our item # in Unit of Measure Schedule ID section instead of use each or box or case.
Can you advice ?
Thank you so much~
Hi Sunflower,
The other option that Janelle didn't mention is to setup Item Class ID's and then assign those in 'bulk' to your items. The Class ID's contains references about the settings for multiple items, including the Unit of Measure Schedule ID, among several others. The process is described in this (old) blog post from Steve Endow.. However, he makes some disclaimer that this might not work if you're using the Manufacturing module, in which case Janelle's approach might be safer (or user a macro, but for 10k items, it's going to be a very long process).

Hi,
Thank you for using Microsoft Communities.
In the Item Maintenance window, the U of M Schedule ID should be one which has been setup in the Unit Of Measure Schedule Setup window.
If you just implemented, do you have at least one U of M Schedule ID setup?
How where the item entered into Dynamics GP? If you have about 10,000 inventory items, I would assume they were somehow imported in an not manually keyed in.
If no transactions have been entered for any of these items, you can try to clear out all the inventory tables and re-import the item data with the correct U of M Schedule ID. You could also try to manually change this field to the correct U of M Schedule ID directly in the IV0101 table. Make sure to test this in a test environment first.
I hope this information helps.
Thank you,
Janelle
