Dynamics NAV 2017 - Starter or Advanced Pack

Hi,

Does anyone know how do we know that NAV recognise that the license keys is for Starter Pack only or Starter and Advanced Pack?

I noticed that the installation is the same, and by default, it installs both Starter and Advanced Pack as I can see the Warehouse and Manufacturing ERP functionalities are there.

It lies in the license file uploaded to database.

You can check license from Development environment and RTC.

you can change it from Development environment.

In Dynamics NAV, installation will install the complete package to your computer. Only the license file will deiced which modules get activated and how many uses can access NAV simultaneously.

You can check the license file by login into CustomerSource or by using Dynamics NAV Development Environment. (Tools -> License Information)

    ASA,

Once you upload your license, you will not even be able to see the modules which you are not having access to.

And also, if you try to access any of the functionality, you will get an error, saying contact your Administrator.

Agree with Tharanga - full objects are installed, and license controls how you access that.

if you open the Dynamics NAV Administrator and expand the service you will find a field called "UI Elements Removal". In that you have 3 options.

    1. None.

    2. LicenseFile

    3. LicenseFileAndUserPermission

If you select last two options, dynamics NAV will remove the UI elements from RTC depending on the license file. If you select the first option then it will nor remove UI element, then once the user click on link which does not belong to your licence then system will throw an error.
