    delayed insert:

describes, when the record changes are inserted to database (when leaving record, means when going e.g. to next record, or ... when leaving the control on the page after changing the value in the control).

    does not depend on datatype.

    follow

Delayed insert check my example in this forum

    community.dynamics.com/.../156714

The AutosplitKey is used to generate the number automatically for you for the last field on the primary key

The last field in the primary field must be an Integer Data Type, BigInteger Data Type, GUID Data Type, or Decimal Data Type field.

When  user complete the data entry for the primary key field NAV will save the record to DB. But by setting delayed insert to Yes, NAV will wait till you move to next record without saving the record to DB. This works with any datatype.

When u have a composite primary key in a table, last key field will generate automatically if the last field is a Integer Decimal,BigInteger, GUID Data datatype and set the AutoSplitkey is set to yes.

    Hi,

The second link also depicts the same thing which Jonathan, Suresh and Tharanga have mentioned.
