Change default report - Save and Send functionality - Zetadocs Express for Nav 2013

ReportReport
Posted on by 123

I want to change the default report used when the user chooses Save and Send.

Looking online I see reference to a codeunit (9041223) which holds the default report values however this does not exist in our installation.

What happens is that the functionality works OK except for those reports where we have changed from using the standard report to one in our own numbered report range.

Hope you can help.

    Hello Kevin,

I am not sure if what you say is missing is the codeunit itself or the report it points to.

If it is the report id's you wish to change, you can do it using a parameter when you call the SaveAndSend function.

    Have you checked this? download.equisys.com/.../Zetadocs%20Express%20for%20Microsoft%20Dynamics%20NAV%20Installation%20Guide.pdf

It explains there how to do what you are requesting.

I forgot to mention it's the 6.3 Save and Send Functionality section in that link.

    Hi José

I had already reviewed this document, my problem is:

    (a) Codeunit 9041223 does not exist in our installation, just 9041209,10,11,12,13 & 15

    (b) We do not have a developer's licence, therefore if the only way to amend the default reports is to edit in C/SIDE then we would not be able to change it anyway :-(

In that case, I can think of a couple of things if you don't have a developer's license:

    You could try either

1.- Changing the default reports on standard NAV (Sales & Marketing>Order processing>Setup>Sales report selection (I translated from spanish so the path might be somewhat off) or

2.- Try to see if the following path on NAV exists. It's from Zetadocs Essentials, not express, so it probably will not exist but it's worth a shot: Departments > Administration >Application Setup > Zetadocs Setup > Zetadocs Report Settings.

If none of the above work, the only thing I can think of is directly changing (editing) the standard reports, which is not the best solution of course but it should work.

    Hi again José

    In your proposed solutions:

    (1) This had already been set/selected but it has no impact on Zetadocs, only on printed documents, it seems

    (2) This menu item does not exist in our system, in fact typring "Zeta" in the search window returns no results at all

As for changing the default reports, I agree it is a solution, but it is not a clean one.  I know I could export the original reports and save them safely (with the hope that I or someone can retrieve them in the future if necessary!) and then copy my new reports to those numbers.  I'm just not too comfortable with this option and I thought Zetadocs would have opened the settings up for us.

    Hello,

Tech note ZTN4190 should contain all the information you need. The codeunit 9041223 is included in the Zetadocs Express .fob that is provided in the download, so if you don't have this then I would suggest re-importing the Zetadocs Express objects.
