Merging timelines, leads and opportunities on a contact
Hi,
It's product design and limitations.
If your contact was created through lead, you can see its activity in Contacts.
Merging two contacts that were not developed from a related lead will allow you to see the related lead after the merger, but you will not be able to see the lead's activity in the contact. Because it doesn't map to any field.
Merging timelines, leads and opportunities on a contact
HI @Cui Hao,
Thanks for getting back to me. I can see that leads and opportunities are carried across to the contact that remains active.
I also tested adding a note in the timeline and that was carried across.
What doesn't seem to be carried across in the timeline is information on email journeys that were carried out when the records were leads, before they became contacts.
I can see why this information isn't carried across (because it's attached to a lead rather than a contact) but is there a way to make it carry across?
Merging timelines, leads and opportunities on a contact
Hi,
What kind of merger are you referring to? We have tested that merging two contacts can be achieved as shown below:
After merging two contacts, their leads and business opportunities will be under the new contact.
Because each leads and opportunities are independent individuals, the contacts are merged in order to make it easier to manage the leads and opportunities under them, if you want to merge the leads you need to do it manually, but this is pointless.
You can also merge leads manually if you need to. If my answer was helpful, please click Like, and if it solved your problem, please mark it as verified to help other community members find more. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.
