Hi,
Anyone knows how to set a number sequence to "in use"?
It has already been assigned to a journal name, one for asset leases initial recognition to be more specific. When the journal is created the following error is thrown:
this field will be yes as soon as you use this number sequence. do you have any additional error messages etc?
Hi CapsLock,
There is, in my opinion, no relation between the error and not having the field 'In use' enabled. Do you want to know how to get 'In use' set to Yes, or do you want to get rid of the error message?
Hi Andre,
I thought the error message related to the number sequence because when the journal is created no voucher number is assigned, so I get two lines, with the correct amounts and ledger accounts but no voucher number thus I get that error when trying to post. So answering your question, what I want is a third option, posting the journal, hehe! Also, the error message says see the message center. If by that it means the messages appearing under the little bell on the top right corner, there is nothing there.
Hi
This error is related to journal name configuration. Can you check your setup : docs.microsoft.com/.../set-up-lease-journal-names
When reading your latest reply, I do understand that the lines are not getting a voucher number. The journal batch has a number. I do think the errors comes from not having the voucher numbers. Can you share a screenshot of the journal name settings where you did setup the voucher number and also a screenshot of the number sequence settings?
Can you also tell how the lines were created? Manually, with data import or a customization?
The lines are created automatically by the leased asset module which creates transactions/journal entries automatically and these can't be edited.
I solved the problem by deleting all created journals without batch number, doing a clean up of the number sequences, deleting the journal names and creating them again. Somehow this worked.
Thanks for reporting back your solution. The question was asked quite some time ago, and I'm not fully able to understand what happened now. Anyway, I have marked your reply, so the question will be set to 'Answered'.
