Dear All,

We want to develop one web portal (preferably in PHP) in which we can see data of entities defined in D365 F&O Environment.

Currently we are using Excel Data Connector but this is not perfect solution.

Please guide me with detailed steps.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi GDP,

Besides developing a portal from scratch, you can consider using Power Apps Portals and interact with the data using virtual entities in Dataverse. You then also have to verify the pricing.

If you want to do it all yourself, you can use e.g. OData for connecting with the data. You can find information here: Open Data Protocol (OData) - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

    Dear Andre,

Thanks for suggestion. Can I directly fetch D365 Entity Data in Open source app like PHP using OData?

Or special configuration is needed for this ?

    Hi GDP,

I don't have experience with PHP myself. I thought it does support to do OData calls. Then you should be able to achieve it.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for guidance. Want to know how can I achieve it without creating my database? Can I display the data from entities directly on screen without saving in to my application database? What config needs to be done at D365 Side?

    Thanks in advance.

F&O offers OData services automatically - you don't have to do anything to get that. You just may need to adjust existing entities or create new ones, if existing entities don't meet all your needed.

You don't need any database to make web service calls. But you may want to introduce some kind of caching, rather then requesting the same data from F&O repeatedly. Unnecessary web service calls would make your appplication slower and they could even impact performance of F&O itself.

    Hello GDP,

You can download Dynamics-AX-Integration code with below URL from Github, there is one sample for PHP, hope you find it helpful.

    Hi Kevin,

    Thanks for sharing this.

Just final question this folder is enough to work on setup or whole setup is needed for PHP?

This is just an sample for your reference, you need to make code changes based on your business requirement.
