I am wondering if there is a way to use gp's webservice / econnect for transferring an order quote to a sales order.
I would like to automate what can manually be done:
Thank you,
Jeffrey
We don't have anything, by default, for that in Web Services/eConnect.
Transferring is a lot like posting, and we don't do that in Web Services/eConnect.
Do you know if there is a way to trigger the correct procedures to accomplish this outside of web services?
I am just trying to automate converting a quote to sales order without needing to manually do it in GP.
Thank you! Jeffrey
Jeffrey,
Did you ever come up with a solution to this? I'm in need of the same thing.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris - unfortunately we haven't found a concrete solution to this. Other than screen scrape and macro but that's not really warranted a solution.
Hi All
GP Power Tools - Developer Tools module could be set up to do this.
You can write a script to drive the user interface to perform the transfer and dismiss any report destination dialogs.
This can then be called via custom Web Service (using Service Based Architecture) or a URL Drill down, or you could use a scheduled or timed process to run the script.
There are lots of options available with GP Power Tools. It allows development in Dexterity sanScript, SQL, C# and VB.Net without needing any external tools such as Dexterity, SQL Server Management Studio or Visual Studio installed. There are no additional deployment steps required and no extra work required when upgrading GP.
Regards
David
Hi JeffreyEnvisage Software Solutions has a tool called Post Master that can automate the Quote to Sales Order transfer process. The tool runs in the background as a Windows Service and can be triggered either via Auto-Detection rules or via SQL script. Details of the product can be found at https://envisagesoftware.com.au/post-masterRegardAndrew DeanEnvisage Software Solutions
Thanks for the idea, Andrew. I've used PostMaster in the past for batch posting, but not for transfers. I've reached out to them for more info.
Thanks, David. I haven't used Power Tools before, but I'll look into it.
