Retroactively add site visits/sales calls

Posted on by 34

I'm just starting to setup Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise and adding my accounts. Is there a way to add a previous visit/meeting or call to the account timeline with a date? And then in addition can it be added even if the date was prior to the account being created?

    Hi NateK,

You can click the previous phone call you want to add to the timeline, and populate the account you want in the Regarding field:

Then the previous phone call will appear in the timeline of the specified account:

Because it's not clear whether the "with a date" here refers to the time the previous phone call was created or the time it was put into the timeline, I have two solutions to solve this problem.

1.If it is the time to put in the timeline:

When you add the previous phone call to the account's timeline, the displayed time defaults to the time added to the timeline.

2.If it means to display the time when the previous call was created, you can refer following steps to customize it:

Step 1: Add the 'Created On' field to the card form “Header” of the phone call, and save and publish.

(Notice: You can have up to six fields in the Header section, only the first two fields will be seen on the timeline record.)

Step 2: Edit the Account form that has the Timeline control on it.

Step 3: Change the Activities Display as per screenshot below, selecting the Phone Call Card form that you edit.

Step 4: Publish and check the timeline:

Even if the phone call was created earlier than the account, it also can be added.
