Create Auto Number for Work Order entity

Hi,

I have a requirement where i need to create auto number for Work Order records.
i have multiple BUs. Based on logged in User's BU, system will generate Work Order number having prefix like BU1-0001 for users having BU as BU1 and BU2-0001 for users having BU as BU2.

think this is achievable via a Flow that triggers on creation of the WO record. You need to convert the Work order Id to a string and then add the BU prefix. I have done this with Project ID and it works fine. I first set it to an Aut-number field and then updated it with the Flow.

I don't think it is possible to generate auto number based on logged in User's BU.

Thanks for providing the links. this will help in those scenarios where we need only one autonumber value for an entity.

Hi Anant,

I believe, your ask is not achievable using OOB functionality. However, you can create custom auto-numbering attributes and set the AutoNumberFormat as per your requirement through SDK.
