GP Upload Error Fixed Assest Integration Process

I’m struggling to upload assets to the Fixed Asset Register and getting an error.

DOC1 ERROR: eConnect Error - The source was not found, but some or all event logs could not be searched. To create, the source, you need permission to read all event logs to make sure that the new source name is unique.

Inaccessible logs: Security.

DOC 2 ERROR: eConnect error -  To create, the source, you need permission to read all event logs to make sure that the new source name is unique.

Any ideas to resolve this issue?

RE: GP Upload Error Fixed Assest Integration Process

    Hello,

We usually see errors like this in environments that are very locked down.  These errors would indicate that the user or the account running the eConnect server don't have proper permissions to read/write to the Event Logs.

The user running the integration and the user running the eConnect Service should both be local admin and have full access to write to event viewer.  Sometimes folders might be missing on the registry too.  Usually, we see these errors with 3rd Party products and there are online articles explaining how to add them back that have been published by these 3rd party products that you can use as a reference if you are having issues even with Admin accounts.
    I hope this helps!
