On-prem app installation best practice

Hi all,

For the cloud version of BC we have appsource. But what is the best practice when it comes to installing on-prem?
As far as I know, all .app files can be extracted with a tool like winrar or 7zip to reveal the full source code.
Obviously, as an ISV, I don't want to send these insecure .app files to partners or end users.

What's an ISV to do to deliver apps to end users in a secure way?

Regards,

Erik

    Hi,

Have you tried to sign you app? docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-sign-extension

I do not know if it would help you but I think it is best starting point.

    Best regards,

    Krzysztof

For on-premise you can use Runtime Packages:

    Thanks, this is exactly it!

I didn't even know runtime packages existed.

    Have you found the solution?
I understand , runtime package can be created
what about the object range, can an app with million range be installed on on-prem?
or do we need to convert into 50K range
do we just email them a runtime package and client will install himself and our app is safe and cannot be cracked
    Please guide.

    Thanks
