AX 2012 Upgrade: Error while running Preprocessing live data. InventTrans is popping an error!

Hi,

Currently doing an AX 2009 - 2012 upgrade project.  When i was running 'Run live preprocessing' step, I'm getting an error 'DataArea abc: InventTrans record with transaction type Sales order and TransRefID  with Lot ID 00026070_058 has invalid reference  00026069_058  in the Reference lot field'.

 

I opened InventTrans in table browser, and tried to find record with InventTransId '00026069_058'. But was not found. I even tried in reference lot id field but return with 0 record. Wondering how this error is popped up, without even a record in db.

 

Does anyone of you came across this situation? Please help on this!

    This situation is fairly common, but it also can be fixed rather easily by using the Upgrade Readiness checks found under the Prepare for upgrade section of the upgrade checklist. Running the Upgrade Readiness checks would flag these records as an error, and also offer the ability to Fix them within each company by pressing the Fix button on the bottom half of the Upgrade Readiness Results window. The Fix button will clear the InventRefTransId, InventTransIdReturn or InventTransIdFather field depending on which type of transaction is being evaluated.

    By the way, i've noiced that i've used Beta upgrade xpo for AX 2012 upgrade. Is it fine? or do i need to reimport the upgrade xpo from the AX 2012 setup CD ?

    No you should use at least the upgrade XPO included with the setup CD or get the latest one from the Cumulative Update 2 available from PartnerSource/CustomerSource.

    Can you please guide me where to open this form to fix invalid referenced records. I have 66 such records in two companies.

    Hi Kevin.

    I have almost all the tasks which went through fine but there was nothing related to InventTrans records. I am upgrading from AX 4.0 to AX 2012 R2.

    Alrighty, the job which fixed the data for me can be found in below path:

    Project area: AX40PreUpgradeInventTrans >> Menu items >> CustVendAcConsistencyFix (Correct conflicting account number)

    After running this job/class for both the companies, I received the notification that 66 records have been modified in total.

    I re-run the job: live processing: InventTrans consistency validation and it went through fine and system proceeded to next step to process Number Sequences which is last job in this specific task.

    I will keep on posting my doubts and questions in case I am stuck again.

    Hi Vishal,

    Did your client encounter any issues around Project based Purchase order migration from version 4 to 2012 R2.

    I have a problem relating to marking and virtual inventTrans records.  I cannot receive any lines on a project based PO, nor can I invoice already received ones.

    If anyone out there has suggestions to help?
