Dear Experts,

I have a very small question regarding the Excel add-in with Free Text Invoice

When I create new and do not fill the customer and try to fill the customer in excel add-in, it gives the below error, however when I select customer and then download excel add-in and it works, is this a limitation?

A row created in data set FreeTextInvoiceLines was not published. Error message: 'Write failed for table row of type 'FreeTextInvoiceLineEntity'. Infolog: Warning: The line cannot be saved because header information does not exist. Enter header information and then save.; Warning: validateWrite failed on data source 'CustInvoiceLine (CustInvoiceLine)'.'

Regards,

Ramit

    Hi Ramit,

    This is a bit tricky but things work in general.

    Please try the following:

    1. In the free text invoice form select the Excel addin - select open in Excel and select the entity with the name "invoice".

    2. Log into Excel as usual and the free text invoice where your curser was on opens.

    3. Now navigate to the header part of the free text invoice and press the +New button from the data connector. This cleans the free text invoice header section. Enter or select the customer account number, enter the date and the currency and then click publish.

    => this published /creates the free text invoice header

    => ignore the lines for the moment

    4. Once the free text invoice header is published, fill the lines with the account number, qty and price. Also enter a line number and then hit the publish button again with the cursor in the line section.

    => this publishes the lines

    => go to D365FO, open the free text invoice form or refresh it and you will see your newly uploaded free text invoice

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
