Posted on by 15,419

Hi

Is it possible to post Item Journal using Power Automation or Flow? Let say you create approval and after approval is done then it post the Item Journal?

Thanks

Hi, as Stefano mentioned, you can create new actions in Power Automate, here's a simple example.

How to run AL procedure in Power Automate (Add custom execute actions)

But if you don't need real-time, you can also consider using Job Queue.

    For example,

To create a job queue entry for batch posting of sales orders

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

There should have been a standard API for Item journals like there are for the G/L Journals. Someone should create that as a open source contribution.

Thanks Inge. I wish it was a way to do it without customization. But looks like we need custom development.,

I don't think there is such an codeunit available. And to do it the recommended way I think you have to include some small development.

    Hi Stefano Demiliani

Thank you so much for your response. Without creating Custom Bound API is it any OOTB codeunit in BC that we can publish as ODATA then consume through HTTP and Post? I mean I just try to avoid development here.

    Thanks again

It’s possible by creating a custom API that exposes the Post action (bound action). Then from Power Automate you can call a bound actions by using the BC connector and referencing your custom API.
