Retail - Voucher (free gift card)

Hi,

I have a client who is interested in the possibility to issue a free voucher. Or you could call it a gift card. The only problem with gift card is that you need to pay for it. My client wants to be able to issue the voucher without having to put money into the register. It's not possible to add a discount to a gift card. Does anyone have a solution for this?

If the Voucher is going to have a fixed value, then create a Discount type for the fixed value

Hi Fredrik,

Here are the few options that you can try.

Option1. If the client gives away the Voucher, then the voucher might have some amount printed on it. Considering this create a payment method called as Voucher and when the customer brings in the Voucher for payment, then you can use this payment method. You can add the infocode to capture the Voucher number. To see how many vouchers have been used, you can see the info code transaction for this.

Option 2. Create a service item called Voucher, Select the quantity becomes negative on that item and under Key in price select Must key in price. Now when you perform any transaction, issue credit memo. This option you can use if the client is not using credit memo feature or else there will be conflict.

Hi

This facility is not available in AX as standard. So Please go to Retail POS customization option and generate GIFT voucher with a specific eligibility amount. This can be configured as new form under Retail->Common -> Pricing & Discount. Then the promotion parameters including eligibility limit can be set in this form.

While finalizing the transaction, GV should print along with the POS receipt, which should be updated in 'RetailGiftCardTable, RetailGiftCardTransactions....etc.
