Hello all,
this is my first report be pacient with me :) [Visual Studio 2013 Tools]
I have an SSRS with simple query from ProdRouteTrans group by CategoryId, I wanted a total line row below each group of records but instead a just managed to make the SUM/AVG on the top of each grouping. I want more like an excel table type.
thanks before hand for your help
I was Reading this blog here about fixing page breaks on SSRS reports and the basic approach it recomends is just adjusting the body width - header and footer also - to the Page setup. In my case I use the US Letter page dimensions - even though I am in Europe and we use A4, letter can be printed on the same tray as well - . So I had to adjust the Body and header to 7.5 Inch and now the page breaks are gone. Everything looks smooth now.
I dont know why the predefault Width when making the precision was longer (8.674in) and I don't know if this has to be done on each single custom report o there is a way to change the default settings.
We seem to be off-topic here - it's not about group totals anymore. Please create a new thread (with an appropriate title) for your new question.

Ok I will try to fix the width . I would like you to help me how to automatic filter the report by the selected production record on ProdPageListForm I have created the controller Class but I have never worked with that before.
It's typically caused by an element exceeding the page width.
On the Report preview Tab I can the normal report of 8 (1 of 8) pages, if I click the Print Layout 12 more pages are added now shows 20 pages (1 of 20). black pages are in between every even number: 2,4,6,8,10...20
Where exactly is the blank page?
I am more or less satistied with the result now that you suggest using the precision design - waaayy better with this -. There is one thing bothering me a lot. the report is leaving one page in blank in between (with header) when I want to print really is annoying. You know how I can fix that?
The link are about SSRS report designer. It's nothing specific to AX, just pure SSRS, but since AX 2012 uses SSRS, you can use this SSRS feature as well.
To be able to use the designer, you must use a precision design, as I mentioned in the last reply. You can find a bit more details in AX 2012 documentation: How to: Create a Precision Design for a Report.
Please be pacient with me. The tutorial is based on Visual studio at template\Business intelligence\Reporting Services And i was following different tutorials where I says Template\Microsoft Dynamics\Report Model AX here I cannot see the any grid. the reports are previewed as a normal page report. That means I am working on the wrong side? because honestly I dont see this options from the documentations you guys are sending me
Auto designs give you little control, which is what you're complaining about, therefore it doesn't seem to be the right tool for your requirements.
I suggest you generate a precision design (right-click your auto design and choose Create Precision Design), open it in the designer and then follow the links mentioned before.
