Hi All,
Wondering if AX 2012 R3 has functionality to plan inventory with respect to product failure rates?
Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks,
Rosey

Hi Rosey,
If you are using production orders, you can set a scrap percentage on BOM lines. Not fully sure, but I thought master planning would take it into consideration.
yes the scrap percentages will be considered and uplift the required quantity to cover the scrapage. I am guessing however that Rosey wants something a little more intuative. I would start by saying you need to define what you mean by failure rates - is this quantity planned less quantity finished, or are you using quality. Then depending upon how you define failure rates you can capture the information and report on them. At this point you can feed them either back into the BOM lines as scrap percentages or start by having safety stock coverage of the quantities. Depends really where the failure is and how it impacts on the supply chain.
Thank you, that was helpful.
