I have recently started to code some fields my company needs into different forms within business central. I have created a new text field on sales orders "On site Contact" Now I can not figure out how to get it to print on the sales order confirmation report. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

You can add your field either in onprem designer and export and convert to AL, or you can do the modification in AL.

Okay got it. Thank you for the help i have a docker container running NAV just wanted to see if i could eliminate the extra step. Do you have any documentation on changing the report through NAV on prem?
The problem, unfortunately, is that you would need to be able to add your new field into the dataset, which is only possible by creating a new report. Its in general a good idea have a local onprem to help you with development. Here's a good thread about the topic:
So i will need to get an on premise instance of business central (NAV)? Is there way to just edit it into the RDLC layout that comes from business central itself?

You will have to create your own copy of the report in order to add a field to it. What I would do is export the report from onprem, convert it to AL and work from there.
