Custom model driven app as customization of Customer Service Team member not visible to a user

Hi,

I've created a new Model driven App that contains the same pages of Custom Service Team member app

I've cloned the Customer Service app access security role and used it in "Manage Roles" of new app to give acces to a user

I've assigned the cloned security roles to a new user to give him the access to the new Model Driven app but there is now way to see the application:

Any idea of what I missing?

Regards

Vincenzo

    Hey.

Users with team member licenses are only allowed to "see" and use the first party app intended (Customer Service Team Member, Sales Team MEmber, etc).  If you check the Licensing guide, it states that users with Team Member licenses DO NOT have access to Custom Apps.  I think this even extends to Sales Professional and Customer Service Professional icenses, and it has to do with the type of app (First Party or Custom)

    regards,

    Thanks Daniel,

So, the only possibility that I have is to modify the existing Custom Service Team member app adding some pages that anyone should see? My goal was to add some pages to the standard MDA visible only to some people with specific security roles, probably this is not possible

    Regards

    Vincenzo

    Vincenzo:

IN order to "see" an app you need 2 things:

    - A valid license
    - The appropriate security role (the one that is associated to the app).

Some licenses do not allow using custom model driven app (like team Member or Sales Pro).  You can customize the default team Member App, and then users with Team member license (or a full license) will be able to access the options within, either custom or Out of the Box.  However, you can create 2 different security roles (for example one with read permissions and one with Create/update).  Both will be able to access the app and the navigation, but those with Create/update will be able to perform those actions.
