You should start with the official training Payroll in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.

What specifically is your question? Are you a partner doing an implementation or a customer that has the solution implemented at your site and you are now a user? If you are a partner and are new to payroll and working on training on the LOKI payroll solution, you may need to talk to the manager at your partner to catch up on the direction for Microsoft and the current payroll solutions/options available. If you are a customer already using payroll, please let me know what you are needing help with specifically and we can help address questions.

    Thanks.

    Siva:

I will email to the email address on your profile, but do contact me and we can help you with this.

A couple of things to understand about Organizations in AX when using Payroll (LOKI version).

    1. Organizations are required.
    2. Positions are linked to organization units.
    3. Employee are required to be placed in a position.
    4. Organizations drive dimensions that post for employees, unless you have something more specific setup (which is limited with the LOKI solution).

A lot people ask the difference between a job and a position in AX HR. Think of the JOB as a template for a position, and a POSITION is unique to a person. An example would be a job for Accounts Payable Clerk, but there may be two or three positions since we have two or three AP Clerks.

What customization are you making to the organization unit structure/table? I find that people try to build more reporting abilities within their organization structure, but that is what the different types of 'trees' are. This refers to the Line/Matrix/Project structure for the organization.

    Thanks.
