baseline database

Hi Friends,

During doing CU13 upgrade, we created baseline database first, when trying to create layer conflict projects, got following error:

"No elements are found in AOD files in the old directory. the layer conflict project will not be created", I checked baseline DB, it's pretty much empty, I guess it's the problem, we did run 'initilize-axmodelstore' for it.

Where is the problem?

    Hi River,

Can you share how you did create the baseline database?

    Hi Andre,

Basically, I followed this link: yetanotherdynamicsaxblog.blogspot.com/.../create-new-baseline-database-for-ax2012.html

    Hi Andre,

Baseline DB shouldn't be empty, right? If it's the case,  I can always re-do it.

    Hi Ganriver,

This procedure creates a new empty database suitable to store models. You can fill it by installing models/model store just like a normal model database. See also: yetanotherdynamicsaxblog.blogspot.com/.../baseline-is-new-old.html

    Hi Andre,

I want to clarify one thing with you first, when we install CU13 upgrade, there is no baseline DB at that time, when it failed to create conflict layer project, then we realized we need a baseline DB, so we created one.

But, is it too late since the modelstore db is already updated with CU13 change?

    Hi River,

Theoretically, you are indeed a bit late now. You can try to get the model store from a backup.

    Hi Andre,

Can I just restore backup directly to baseline database? or I have to restore it to model DB first?

    Hi River,

Not sure. I haven't done that before. Make sure you have a backup of the current baseline. Then you can test it. I'm also curious about the outcome...
