Financial reports in in publicly traded company using D365F&O

I have an interesting conversation with a customer that is publicly traded. The Finance SME indicates that Management reporter and other tools are not good enough for auditors to be sox-compliant. Their old ERP system had static reports and the request is that we build all the financial reports as SSRS reports in D365 to satisfy audit. The 2 requirements are that the report be non-modifiable (SSRS), and display all filters and parameters chosen on the report in the printout (which out of box SSRS reports do not do).

If there is anyone who has worked with a publicly traded company that implemented F&O and used the big 5 as auditors (EY, etc) I'd really appreciate any feedback on how this was addressed. If it is indeed custom SSRS reports, so be it, but I thought I'd ask.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

There are some companies, such as this one (https://www.gofastpath.com/) that offer special ISV solutions for sox compliance.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Zahir,

Management reporter or any report generated from system is displaying what has been feeded by business so it cannot be SOX-Compliance because it is just reporting tool. SOX compliance is about data accuracy and security and most importantly internal controls procedures and financial data security controls should be properly in place.

In US, I have seen many public listed companies go for SOX compliance just to follow a good business practice but i suggest you to ask EY consultants to provide you those report formats which they usually ask companies when they ensure SOX audit controls and you can easily design those SSRS reports with many filters as per their audit requirements.

Yes Fastpath is being used for security and role segregation. It just doesn't provide guidance on reports. I need a way to determine indeed that Financial reporter is not Sox-compliant and therefore we have no choice but to use custom SSRS reports for balance sheet, P&L and 20+ other reports to be built.

I guess if no one else has done it then yes I will have to talk to the auditor directly. I think it is possible to demonstrate data accuracy, security and segregation of duty with the Financial reporter datamart and report designer.

I was hoping someone who has worked in a US publicly traded company has had this conversation before so we can socialise what the best practise is for others here to be informed.
