Unable to create Web Client Only user - Error that the password is not long enough

I am trying to create some Self Service Users that will use the Web Client Only.  When I check the box for Web Client Only, it disables the SQL Login tab (expected).  After I select the AD account and try to save the user, I get an error that the password is not long enough.  However, I'm not entering a password since the SQL login tab is not available (user ID redacted for privacy but a valid AD account is selected, I've tried several different ones).  GP version is 18.3.1200.

Do you have any 3rd party application - like GP Power Tools - that might be forcing a password length in GP?  Or is it possible you have a SQL Admin that has set a minimum length for SQL Logins.  While the AD password might pass AD - it might fail on either of these two counts.

    Just a thought.

Along with what Bill mentioned, since it is a Web Client Only user account, there isn't any SQL login like a regular GP user would have, thus we wouldn't be able to use the 'Enforce password policies' option that makes use of the policies for passwords and accounts on the domain, so it would seem to be something extra maybe installed with Dynamics GP.

I know in my testing, I've setup Web Client Only users with a password like Pass123 and it works fine, so, Web Client and Dynamics GP don't have any password length requirement themselves, only a limit on how many characters you can have for a password, which is 21 on GP 18.3, otherwise 15 in older versions.

    Thanks

Bill FTW.  It was the Rockton GP Toolbox that was causing the issue.  They have a password tool that was enabled and causes a conflict with the Web Client Only user setup.  They said they are working on a fix but for now I was able to disable the add-on while creating the users and then enable it again after.

Thanks, that suggestion actually helped me figure out where to look.
