Account number shows spaces

Any idea why the account number shows up like this - we checked the table and the account numbers look fine and the segments all match - 5 2 4

    Moved from Engage to Finance, as it supports Dynamics GP
     
    I don't know enough about Dynamics GP to be able to use the system, but from experience with similar systems like Dynamics and SAP it looks like a dimension combination string.
    I.e. "Main account" 10000 - "Dimension 1" 00 - "Dimension 2" 0000

    Check your account format setup. There is a field for Display Width, which is designed to resize to fit the segment. You may have an expanded width. Here's from the GP 205 Help screen: 

    Display Width

    Select the display width for each account segment. The display width can be changed at any time and the segment will be resized accordingly.

    Use the following guidelines to determine which display width is most appropriate for the segment, depending on the characters and digits that are most likely to be included in the segment.

    Standard - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, F, I, J, L, T, and Z

    Expansion 1 - A, B, E, K, P, S, V, X, and Y

    Expansion 2 - C, D, G, H, M, N, O, Q, R and U

    Expansion 3 - W

    Looking at the screenshots and the information, I take that the 5, 2 and 4 are the Length in the Chart of Accounts that you are referring to when checking the tables. If correct, then this points to the Account Format being reduced at some point in the past. This is what usually leaves the blanks in the Account Format.
     
    I would suggest reviewing the article below that provides steps to Decrease or Increase the Chart of Accounts. There is one specific part where you run Reconcile on the Account Format that might fix this. 
     
    In addition, you might need to delete the GL00105 and run Check Links to recreate the GL00105 after Reconciling the Account Format.
     
     
    Be sure you have valid and restorable backups of your environment beforehand so you can restore if it does not come out correctly.
