GP Web Client 2018

Posted on by 715

Hi,

We have recently upgrade to GP 2018 October 2021 release from GP 2016 R2.

Upgradation was seamless, main server and clients are up and running. Now we install its Web client, however, we are experiencing fewer menu items, even for power user. see the attachment

Can any one update, is its interface is same or do we need something missing in our installation.

    Hi Beat,

    Thanks for your guidance.

I do the same and it happens in exact way. All user can now see complete menus over web client as well.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Irfan,

Given the recommendation from Derek, I'd simply install a previous GP web client with the installer from last year (i.e. Fall 2020 release, which is 18.3.12xx), and then copy this folder content over the new 18.4 Web client folder..

Looks like some of the 18.4 web client components were missed in the latest setup. All the details are explained in the link Derek provided.

    Thanks for your reply Derek.

Basically we have an earlier version of Dynamics GP 2016, and we did our upgrade from version 16.00.0901 to 18.4.1361.

We did completely remove GP2016 from our Web Server and then install a fresh load of GP 2018 web client, where we are facing this issue.

    It's a known issue.

You need to take the 'WebClient' folder from a 18.3 install directory and put it into the 18.4 GP directory that Web Client is pointing to, replacing the current one.

This is mentioned in this blog >> community.dynamics.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-gp-fall-2021---upgrading-the-web-client

    Thanks
