Specify email sending time

Posted on by
We are looking into when an email is sent via RTM. We are aware of the 'optimised send time' but it never says when an email is sent if the optimised send time isn't specified.
So, our question is; where can we check the send time?

The usecase:
We want to send emails from monday to friday, between 0900 and 1700. In Outbound Marketing this was easily setup, but in RTM this doesn't seem to be possible.

Is there a way to set this up, and if so, how?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers, Robin

    Hi Robin,

As part of Wave 2 2023, we plan to release Quiet times to allow you to allow you to create settings like this. Here's a link to the item in the Release planner: Prevent messages from sending during unwanted times by setting up quiet times using Copilot | Microsoft Learn.

In the meantime, you can also use Wait tiles in a journey to set specific dates and times. Real-time marketing journey tile reference | Microsoft Learn

    Thanks,
    Will, PM, Microsoft.

    Hi,

Regarding your request to customize the Real-time Marketing Email delivery time, it is not supported.

According to Microsoft's official documentation, to use email in Real-time Marketing, you can choose Send now or Schedule for later, but this is only for a single sending of Marketing email has great limitations, for the needs of automation, it is recommended to use Customer Journey for automated needs.

The links to the documents are as follows
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/email-without-journey

Based on the above analysis, our team came up with a possible solution

Step 1, create a Customer Journey, either trigger-based or segmentation-based, depending on your needs.

Step 2, add a send email action and select the emails you want to send

Step 3, set the email frequency, depending on how many emails you need your customers to receive at a given time.

Step 4, set the time zone start and end time of the customer journey

Due to the limitations of Real-time Marketing, you will have to manually copy and change the start and end times to meet your needs.

In addition, we recommend using Outbound Marketing, which will make it very easy to meet your needs.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Rudy Zhang
