Hello,

is it possible to set default location for item in BOM?

When I create new production order for bicycle and open the Production Order Components (Line - Components), the location code is empty (see picture below).

From where does this field come from? Where should I set default location for the specific item? I cannot imagine that I will enter the location manually and also all cannot have the same locatin code because can be stored on different location. We do not use bins.

Hi Tomas,

You can define Location code in Production Order header - Posting, Location code.

If you need to change location in existing Production Order you can use function Referesh Production Order, system will update location in Production Order lines and Component lines.

But then it means I have to have all items on the same location, how to do it if some components are on location1 and other components are on location2?

Hi Tomas,

As variant you can change location code in Component lines.

But also you can create Stock keeping units and use MRP to create Tranfer Orders and Production Order automatically.
