How to stop using a dimension on purchase invoices

Hi All,

We are no longer using one of the dimensions that we have used in the past when posting purchase invoices. But the problem we're having is that Nav won't let us post invoices without this dimension code being present.

I have looked under the Dimensions page and can't see anything there that is making this particular dimension mandatory, so I suspect it's a setting somewhere in the purchase invoice form or maybe the G/L expenditure codes, but I can't see what I need to change. Can anyone help?

We are using Nav 2013 if that makes a difference.

Thanks All - it was the default dimension under the GL codes. All fine now!

Can you post the exact error which throw from Dynamics NAV?

In the Vendor card and the G/L accounts check whether you have make the dimenstion code mandatory

Hi,

You may check the posting setup pertaining to the Items, Resource or Vendor Posting etc. and check for the underlying G/L Accounts whether if you have mentioned Default Dimensions being Mandatory.

What is the exact error?

Please check on Vendor Card-->Dimensions

Purchaser Code-->Dimensions

Item-->Dimensions

etc
