Intelligent pick tour with AX 2012 R3 (WHS)

Dear all,

I would like to know how to implement intelligent pick tour in my AX 2012 R3 with WHS.

We would like AX create cluster picking by selecting itself the works which goes in the same location, or create it by aisle for instance.

The purpose is to optimize our picking tour for our worker.

Thanks.

    Hi Laura Lespagnard,

Using cluster picking system will not suggest work automatically as its the worker who needs to scan the work which he wishes to add to cluster. (So adding work to cluster is workers responsibility)

Once works are added to the cluster Dynamics will sort all work based on how you want it to happen. You need to use cluster sorting for the same.

Try using cluster profile as setup  by me below and using this Dynamics will sort all work which need to pick items from same location.

In other words this optimizes the picking operation as several work might need picking from one location and worker will pick items of all the works at one time only.

Below setup will make sure that pick lines are created in such a way that worker will not have to move back and forth to the same location for picking.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. This is already the setup we used for cluster.

What i'm looking for is a way to create pick tour whithin a batch in a smarter and more efficient way. For instance, create pick tour by aisle of the warehouse, or with all the same item,... I don't want anymore the worker to decide which work he will group in a cluster, as this is not efficient.

    Hi Laura,

I think you have a choice. Try to get the orders that you want to pick together on to a single Wave, which gives you the possibility to get them on to one Work Id, and sort the lines efficiently.

Or, you can create multiple Work Ids and use Cluster picking to combine them.
