Help-SSRS report and excel generated from excel

Hi,

Greetings experts

I need a help on the following.Working on AX 2012

A PNL report was developed few years back-I can see the report from UI(AX worksapce) -Checked the menu output item and found the SSRS report

But i searched everything-Unable to find Visual studio project for the SSRS report. Is there a way to find the VIsualstudio project in Ax 2012.

Secondly the report when saved in excel generates some merged columns(if i go to excel and say un-merge than the report format gets totally changed and is a mess). Also the excel generated(if i say show on screen and than save to excel by export the excel -the format is same as i mentioned ) and the users says she can t even copy cells or use normal excel functionality

How can i make the report changes and get rid of merged columns

-Since i cant find the VS project, i cant edit the same. If i could edit...i would have made some changes in design

-I tried to copy the excel to another excel but no luck..I dont know how to read the column

the default report starts with d column and the column of U & V are merged in excel

I tried all possibility(ctrl A but the report dont copy special values)

How can i make formatting changes to excel get rid of this merged columns

Please help

    HI Crispn...Happy holi greetings from India. The problem is that while exporting the ssrs report to ex ell..unnnecessary blank columns are also shown in excel for no reason. I have kept wdh of each textbox same also, Wat am i missing here

    Thank you.I made the property of Cangrow as false. Tried size & location property too but still the cells are merged(removed the header which spans two columns)

    I have the below issue

    Tablix3

    <space><space>tablelix 4(where the tablix 4 has same left location as of tablix 3

    What other property i can set

    Please help as i m stuck with this mess for days.

    Build the solution / deploy the report and check for overlapping warnings.

    Fix them all.

    If you still run into overlapping, set fixed width to fields (disable CanGrow)

    I maanged to found the Visual studio project.

    the probelm now is the report is designed in a way like

    tablix 1

    tablix2

    tablix 3

    as a result the excel shows merged columns and normal excel functionality cant be used(the export to excel is default beahviour or excel)

    how can this be solved

    another question:

    the report looks pretty simple and to me it looks as if this one can be setup in the management reporter. have you tried doing that? might be faster than trying to modify the old stuff

    Isn't there any kind of documentation available how this report has been developed?

    is this actually something build with ssrs or the analysis services ssas?

    You have to open a Visual Studio instance connected to this AX client, and open the report design there.

    If this is a custom report, VS is probably configured already.

    You need to also follow the deployment steps after..

    Thank u for the reply.I found the SSRS report but how do i edit the same. I want to edit it so i can make some formatting changes. Is there a way to edit the Ssrs report.

    The controller class just has that Ssrs report name and the design.

    Let me know how to edit the SSSR report to make changes in the design mode

    You don't necessarily need to find the VS Project.

    If you find the report, it will do.

    For that, y0u dig into the menuitem, if there is a controller class, follow it.. You should find a reportname in the main method.
