I am having an case where the workflow that I have setup is having a organization Hierarchy that ends up with Head of Department, however sometimes the transaction is initiated by the HOD so i am getting an error is that there is no User that the HOD is reporting to.
please advise how to fix such issue, also is there a way that i can make use of the Department manager Field in the department Form. (Noting that Department is NOT a Dimension)
I haven't worked on the solution you proposed, you can try your ideas. You can add conditions to check if the sponsor is the HOD and adjust the workflow accordingly, you can refer to this official document: Configure conditional decisions in a workflow - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn. Use the following procedure which is mentioned in the article to configure the properties of a conditional decision.
