New to the UK - What’s the realistic salary range for a Functional Consultant?

Hi everyone,

I recently relocated to the UK, and I’m trying to better understand the Dynamics 365 job market here. My background started in Microsoft Dynamics 365 technical support, where I worked closely with enterprise customers, troubleshooting and resolving complex platform issues. I later progressed into a lead role supporting engineers and customers, and over the last year, I’ve been working more directly as a Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant Sales and slowly diversifying into Customer Service, Field Service and the CE in general.

I’m curious to hear from others in the community who transitioned into the UK market or moved countries during their career.

Based on experience similar to mine (technical support → lead → functional consulting with around 3-5 years total in the D365 ecosystem), what salary range is typical for a Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant with my basic experience in the UK?

I have a few years of experience handling and creating MDA and Power Automate Flows, with a few certs like PL-200, AZ-104, PL-300, and PL-600, and I'm still very confused at times because I can't seem to learn all the modules 🥲.

I’m also very open to contributing to the community and learning from others’ experiences. Any advice, guidance, or insights would be genuinely appreciated.

Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

    Hi Inemesit,

Welcome to the Dynamics Community. I'm not from the UK, so can't comment on your question. Maybe you can find information on the internet or you can contact a recruiter for more insights.

As you mentioned you are open to contributing to the community, I would encourage you to so do. It is a great way to helping people and learn yourself at the same time.

    Hello Inemesit,

Honestly, I think you’re already in a pretty good spot for the UK market.

From what I’ve seen, most Dynamics 365 Functional Consultants here tend to fall somewhere around £42k - £66k overall, with many landing in the £50k - £60k range. With your background (3 - 5 years, solid certifs, and some cross-module exposure), I’d personally expect something around £50k - £65k, maybe more in London or the right consultancy, but that’s just my view.
Also, I wouldn’t stress too much about not knowing all the modules, that’s completely normal. Most people specialise in one area and then expand over time. No one really knows everything in D365 😅(besides YUN ZHU)
