Hi,
We are migrating a customer from AX 2012 R3 to D365 Operations. Our customer is in Maldives. When we sign up for an Operations trial, we can't see Maldives as a listed country. But many other countries where Operations is not released like India are available in this list. I am wondering if this is just a technical error ? Can MS Support help here.
Many Thanks.
Finally, I have confirmed updates on this issue -
1. Per the International Availability Guide, D365 (CRM, Operations) is not available in Maldives. The guide can be downloaded here - https://download.microsoft.com/documents/en-us/dynamics/dynamics_365_international_availability_deck.pdf
2. I have reached out to the MS team to confirm if this is just an oversight and had heard some concerns around latency. I have also confirmed to MS that per the global internet backbone map, Maldives is fully connected to receive high speed connectivity. I have also validated the same through doing latency tests for our customer with their D365 env test/dev hosted in the Singapore Azure region. I am now awaiting update from MS on if this was just an oversight in not listing Maldives.
At this point, we are stuck and not able to move forward and figuring out other options including getting D365 listed for Maldives so that it appears in our CSP Partner Center when we place the license order! We are working through our MS Singapore PAM and our Singapore offices (since Maldives falls under that region for CSP). Our customer is also one of the world's first few AX for Retail customers, migrating to D365 Finance & Operations for Retail. So hoping we get some solid answers and a resolution soon.
I will keep this article updated as we get further clarity.
The list of regions which are supported and you have localizations for are listed on the Roadmap site via the Availability guide link:
The Localizations link which would allow to have country-specific fields says it uses the ISO standard country-codes, which includes Maldives - MV in the online search tool that they link from the documentation:
docs.microsoft.com/.../country-region
So theoretically the country should be supported.
Hi Anil,
In AX 2012, Microsoft used a list which was initially valid as per August 2007. I don't know what ISO list they used for D365. Anyway, when you miss some countries, you can add it as part of the implementation.
Andre, sorry one more thing. Is there a place where this list of countries and regions are published? Can you please point me to that.
Dear Andre,
Many Thanks for this valuable update! This resolves our issue as well. We now understand that the trial is 'independent' of the fully deployed environment. We are procuring the licenses post the July Operations release and then will have to work through LCS for the Maldives setup.
Many thanks again!
Hi Anil,
Did you deploy a machine from Azure or did you signup for the trial where you can review only some functionality to get an idea how D365 looks like?
The country Maldives is in the list of Country/Regions in a fully deployed environment. If you are looking at the trial, then the list of countries might be limited.
Dear Andre, Thank you very much. We are actually not even looking to do any new language or localization as Maldives uses English and has simple taxation. So even AX is deployed with really no localization. So my issue is that then we sign up for an Operations trial, we can't see Maldives in the list, but we can see for example - India, which is not even supported! I hence feel it is probably as simple as MS team adding Maldives in the drop down! Thank you again.
Hi Anil,
Have a look at my blogs around localization. This should provide you the answer how to add a new language.
