Outlook Web Plugin References vs. Sending Email from the CRM

Hi!

we are currently sending mails from two different sources:

  1. From the CRM: Which allows us to store the Mail in the Receiving contact as well as the opportunity i am referencing to.
  2. From Outlook: Which allows me to just reference it while the receiving contact is not showing the mail in its timeline in CRM.

Is there a way to change this in the Outlook Web App to be able to track Mails to the receiver as well as the referenced opportunity? Just as it functions when i send the mail from the CRM?

Thx!

Leif

    Hi Leif,

In the Outlook Web App you track the message after you have defined the contact in your message. If the contact is already in CRM, the message will appear in the contact's timeline. You should put in the Opportunity in the regarding field as shown in the attached screenshot:

    Screensho

The message and the replies to the message will be tracked this way just as it will when sent from CRM.

    Hope that this helps.

    Best regards,

    Illugi

For additional reference you can go through the D365 App for outlook features.
