Hi!
I recently set up a new marketing app in an existing environment. The process informed me that this could take up to 1 hour. The result was that it took over 3 hours and 68 solutions were installed, including base solutions and patches related to marketing. The environment was pretty much useless during this period, with SQL timeouts and generally very unresponsive.
So the question now is, will this be the same when I set this up in a live customer production environment? What is your experience when setting up Marketing for the first time? The Power Platform Build Tools and the SDK has support for async solution import. I can hardly see Microsoft using that themselves given the behavior of the instance as described earlier. Your thoughts?
Hi,
My installation was basically the same as the one you encountered and also took several hours.
Here are the solutions which official documentation mentions:
Dynamics 365 Marketing solutions (Dynamics 365 Marketing Developer Guide) | Microsoft Docs
And here is the documentation about installation:
Set up Dynamics 365 Marketing (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs
If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.
Best Regards,
Nya
