Hi All,

Hope you all are doing well,

I have a query related to AX licensing, I have the AX 2012 license file

My query is that how do I get VAR layer license code,is it included within the license file that I may get it from the file itself as I can see there are many codes are specified with unique code line number in the license file or we should buy VAR layer code separately.

Thanks in advance.

Log on to PartnerSource, and license keys should be available on your Voice page that is usually a dropdown menu by clicking your account image.

You must be a licensed Microsoft Dynamics AX Partner in order to be able to develop on those layers.

Enroll link is at the bottom of the product page to become a partner/reseller:

    Thanks Vilmos for the response.

Correct, the actual issue is with the application license file that customer shared is wrong, hence the layer code is not accepting though it is correct.

it's working fine after applying correct license file.

    Thanks,

Maybe the AX shortcut you are trying to use is pointing at a different configuration? Also, do you have the licenses for the layer provided in the License information form in AX? Make sure it is not removed, otherwise it will not work.

You could try to add the command-line parameters to start the client and provide it like this:

    Ax32.exe -aol=VAR -aolcode=YOURVARCODE

See if this helps. If not, then the license imported in AX does not match with the license you have the development layer codes for.

This is original license file that client purchased and shared layer keys.

Application license file is working fine but layer keys not working.

Is license key of your AX, for same prospect or you may be using Contoso/Demo key as Base AX license file and trying to apply VAR keys on Contoso keys??

    Hi Sohaib,

I got the keys from customer source account and applied in the ax client configuration but it's not working and getting info as code for *** layer is not valid.

Am I missing something here, can you please suggest me.

    Thanks,
