Negative margin control

Hi,

In AX 7, is there any setup to control the "Negative margin" posting on invoice, for example, if the base cost is 100, and margin ratio is 10%, if the price is below 110, then the system won't throw an error during invoice posting.

    Hi Yuji,

    There is no setup to get alerted. If you want to be triggered for negative margins, you should check it manually or consider a customization.

    Hi Yuji,

    You can see the 'Margin alert' functionality that was added with R3 here:

    organicax.com/.../sales-price-margin-alert-in-ax2012-r3

    It is dependent on enabling some Retail functionality in the licence configuration (I can't remember if you have to do any extra config e.g. Call center related setup to enable it).

    It won't throw an error; it will only provide a visual indication on the order line... but it's a start for something to modify.

    I assume it lives on in AX7.

    It is part of the call centre.

    However, its not a lot of use without customisation it only works at header level not line level, so we had to enhance it.

    hi magic,

    I think the 'Margin alert' is per line. It shows the margin for each line, and a 'good', 'ok', 'bad' indicator for each line, depending on the margin of that line.
