SW requirements for AX 2012 FP CU5 and R3

hi experts

I am trying to create a test server where i would like to test the upgrade from ax 2012 fp cu5 to ax2012r3 latest version.

I have read the documentation for preparing the environment which says that create a copy of the existing live environment of ax 2012 FPCU5 then go for teh upgrade. My problem is in the operating system itself. I want to use the windows server 2012 r2 but its not supported for AX2012FPCU5. Second issue is about the which version of SQL Server Do i choose ?. I want to install SQl Server 2014.

I tried to install AX 2012 FP CU5 on WIN 2012 R2 and SQL 2014 The pre requisites are not installing.

Please let me know how i can install AX2012FPCU5 on WIN2012 R2 using SQL 2014 or recommend the correct combination.

    Copy-paste from the System requirements:

    Operating system  Notes  
    Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported with AX 2012 R3 and cumulative update 7 for AX 2012 R2.  
    Windows Server 2012 is supported with AX 2012 R3, AX 2012 R2, and cumulative update 5 for AX 2012.

    SQL Server 2014 is only supported for AX 2012 FPK CU5 without a service pack.

    When I did our upgrade from AX 2012 RTM FPK CU7, I had no trouble installing it on Windows Server 2012 R2 directly, even though it is not officially supported. Also it did work perfectly with SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Edition SP2 CU1

    Thanks for your quick reply, i really appreciate your timely response.

    Correct me if i am wrong as to what i understand from you post.

    "I can Install AX 2012 FP CU5" on win 2012 R2 and use SQL 2014 RTM (i.e. without Service Pack" is it correct ?

    Secondly the reason for creating this test environment which matches exactly as the Live environment except the Operating System and the SQL Version. I want to follow the in-place upgrade for AX2012R3.

    My ax2012 version dts ; kernel version :6.0.1108.4316 application version : 6.0.1108.4316                                    solution version 6.1.1108.4316.

    Dear Vilmos

    Just tried to install ax 2012 FP on windows 2012 and sql 2014 RTm version.

    Initially selected only database AOS and client. It give error after creating database. The log file

    "The model store schema was not found in the database MicrosoftDynamicsAX.
    2016-11-24 11:39:59Z Importing file 'C:\Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack\Models\Standard\Foundation.axmodel' to the database 'SVRAXR3\MicrosoftDynamicsAX'."

    I have copied the Entore souce on my C drive and running the setup from there.

    Ickecked the folder and the file it says cannot find is existing on that location.

    Any suggestions would be higly appreciable
