Happy Friday...

I'm looking to gain a better understanding of certain AX tables, their relationships, and how they're meant to be used. The primary ones I'm looking to delve deeper into are InventTrans and InventSum. What other tables may be out there that I may want to consider also? I have a rudimentary understanding of what data is held in these tables but specifics about the column data is what I'm lacking. I'm not sure if there's a white paper or TechNet article which goes deeper with examples are available.

I would appreciate if anyone can point me to any resources.

Hi,

What AX version are you using?

To understand relations between Trans* tables in AX2012, this whitepaper can be helpful:

I would also recommend to use 'Cross references' in AX to find in which places Trans* tables are used.

InventSum is used to track inventory level. You can have a look at such classes like InventTransSum, InventUpdateOnhand, InventSumReCalcItem, etc. to understand how it's calculated.
