AX 2012 R3 with EP on SharePoint 2013

Hello All,

We are currently upgrading from R1 to R3 and are in the testing stage.

We are experiencing some issues installed Enterprise Portal (EP) for R3 on SharePoint 2013.

Is this supported at all?

Hi Boubacar,

Sharepoint 2013 is supported. You can read it in the AX 2012 System requirements guide: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

Probably you can also mention the error details you encounter?

Hi André and Umesh,

When we run the R3 setup to install EP, the prerequisite validation stops at "SharePoint 2013 update" see image below. The link provided is https://technet.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/dn169057.aspx

It says that for R3 you don't need these updates (they are just for R2). However, we ended up installing them including SP1 for SharePoint 2013 and it still stops asking for the sharepoint update. Any ideas?

Note that this is on the web server (sharepoint 2013 server) and has the client, management utilities, SSRS.

Hi Boubacar,

You have to read the sections in the document I provided in an earlier answer. Service pack 1 for Sharepoint is required anyway.

The documentation on the link you provided is speaking about AX hotfixes, but due to the lay-out also the SP1 for Sharepoint is in this section. It would be best if Microsoft can update the page stating SP1 is also required for R3. Only the AX hotfixes are needed for R2.

HI.

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013, Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition (supported with AX 2012 R3. Service Pack 1 is required with AX 2012 R3

Hi All,

I am facing the same error while installing EP components of AX 2012 R3. I have already installed Sharepoint 2013 SP1 on the server.

Below is the screenshot of the error.

Anyone having idea how to resolve this issue.

You need to run the Sharepoint 2013 Products configuration wizard after SP installation.

And as a side note, what version of SP do you have installed?

SharePoint 2013 with SP1 is supported for R3 enterprise portal.

However in the R3 release note there are comments about a known issue of EP Installation failing when you run SharePoint 2013 in a server which was previously running SharePoint 2010 or other versions.
