Electronic reporting Excel output Freetext invoice

ReportReport

Hello,

I'm learning Electronic reporting in D365. I imported a Microsoft configuration and format for Freetext Invoice (Excel) from LCS, created my own copy and tagged it to Business Document type and changed status to completed. Then I was able to change the report in AR - Forms setup - Print management back from SSRS output to the new configuration.

I can run the format successfully starting from configuration and I get an excel file output.

But when printing the report directly from Freetext invoice form I get the error: Parameters for the model have not been found.

Does anybody have an idea what could be the problem here? Thanks in advance!

Evelyn

    Hi Evelyn,

I don't fully understand what you have done.

Did you try to run the report directly from the ER workspace that you show in your first screenprint?

This is not going to work because there is no data available from there to fill the free text invoice form.

You have to run it from the customer invoice journal form if you want to test it.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

thanks for the feeedback. When running the format directly from ER workspace, I additionally filtered it to one invoice. This works. But of course I want to print the invoice from the customer invoice journal or freetext invoice form - here I get the error message:

Parameters for model have not been found. or for unposted invoices:

'Order by' or 'Invoice to' does not exist

    Kind regards,

    Evelyn

    Aha.

Are the order by or invoice to field values mandatory in your system?

Has somebody change the properties of those fields?

If you simply use the standard FTI ER model and import it from LCS things should work out of the box unless some modifications have been made.

Have you tried making the configuration in a MS Contoso environment or in one of your company specific test boxes/machines?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

I worked with a Contoso machine (10.0.6.)  I picked the Customer invoicing model - Customer FTI Report (GER) - this report had no tag at all, so I needed to create my own configuration derived from this format and add the tags by myself, replaced the SSRS report with the ER report and get the mentioned error messages.

I now see that there are 2 different customer invoice models. So I deleted the Customer invoicing model  and Customer FTI Report (GER) and tried to import the other one: Customer invoice model and Free text invoice model (GER) -> this was not possible at all on that machine:

I tried that successfully on another Contoso machine but Version 10.0.7:

And now I find that format NOT under "Customer invoice model" but under "Invoice model" - Freetext invoice (Excel) and its already tagged correctly, so I'm able to replace the SSRS report in Print management.

And now - you are right - its working out of the box correctly - so I get an excel output when printing a free text invoice - but only for the machine version 10.0.7.

So maybe its a matter of the AX version. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

    Regards, Evelyn
