Hi

I am looking at best way of create employee records in D365FO.

Do you have to separately import users which are set up in AD, and then create the employee records (which include Name, Email, Job, Location Cost Centre), or is there a way of doing both at the same time?

Looking for an import option, rather than a manual creation?

Any help would be great thanks

    Hey Dosima,

Using the data management work space you should be able to import them all at once if you want to.  I think you'll need the three entities below be sure to import them in the order they are listed users, employee and then User to person relationship.

Below are a few videos I've done on the data management work space.

    Thanks Scott that was helpful

Can the same be done with Dynamics Role Assignment - importing rules - for automatic role provisioning?

There is an entity for it called Security User Role association.  It looks like you can import that as well.  Just do that after you do users.

Employee data is present in different table . Hcmwoker is base table where employee ID is present and employment(hcmEmployment) ,position assignment(HcmPositionWorkerAssignment) , position details(hcmpositiondetail) , jobs(Hcmjob) etc are present in different tables.  You can find entities foe these different tables and import data in in the sequence.

For security lso out of the box entities present , for example for importing users and assigning roles to them you can use SystemSecurityUserRoleEntity  and SystemUserentity
