AX 2012 R3 - DMF seem to not updateg the records for Custom fields in Products/Customer master

Hi all,

I am facing some real issues using DMF to upload data to some Custom fields in Products/Customer master.

The data just seem to not get updated while the DMF entities are refreshed (DMF table as well as Query). The DMF entities are validated fine as well.

I earlier posted this issue and got a suggestion to do a Full CIL generation and then re-try, Today's query is posted after doing the same.

Please share your feedback as for what I may be missing while trying to upload data from CSV files to few Custom fields in Products/Customers master.

Any DMF gurus :)?

    if you have custom fields in Products/ Customer master and you want them to be uploaded using DMF,

    it is recommended that you should create your own DMF entity for Products and customer master.

    Let let me know if you need more details how to create a DMF entity

    Many thanks for your reply.

    Strange enough, I am able to load data to some of the Custom fields while I have NOT created a custom entity say for instance on Customer and I only updated DMFCUSTOMERENTITY table and the Customer target Query.

    ..  It is only that system doesn't like the other chunk of Custom fields on Customer :)!

    But I will now give it a try to create Custom entity as well, I do have a rough idea, can you please direct me towards any good link on that?

    Hi Asim,

    It is fine, we can do modifications in existing DMF entity and make it work for custom field,

    but is good if you create your own Entity if you have custom fields to be included in the DMF

    Thanks Nitesh.

    That is the interesting bit Nitesh. I did not do any modification in existing Customer entity class and only changed

    (a.) DMFCustomerEntity table (which is used in staging) and

    (b.) DMF Target query for customers

    ..and even then it did import data into few Custom fields for Customers. ( Now I'm wondering why it is not importing data into other ones :)! )

    Anyways, I will now see how I can do a complete custom entity to import data into Customers.

    Hi Muhammad,

    If you have added some fields in an existing table which is also available as DMF entity, you CAN'T create a new custom entity for the same target table using the wizard.

    So it is recommended like you already did to add the fields in the staging table and the target query.

    Then you have to regerenate the field mappings of the Target entity. Also you have to check the source to staging mapping in from the Processing groups.

    If you did all this and still having troubles, please specify if you added the tables on the CustTable and InventTable itself or did you use a new or related table to add the new fields?

    Do you have problems on only one Entity or both? Did some fields work and others not? What is the field type of the fields that does not work?
