Getting an error using the Dynamics GP Migration extension to Migrate from GP2018 to Business Central

We are getting the following error when we try to use the files that are exported from Dynamics GP2018 using the Migration extension in Dynamics 365 Business Central. We are choosing to use the existing COA from Dynamics GP.

"The Data does not represent a valid JSON Token"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

Kristen, thanks so much for pointing us in the right direction. We found an extra ] in the code file, after removing the migration got past the error.

    Joe -

If you look at your account json file within the zip file, you most likely have a character that is messing with the json, start by looking for a \ or /.  The other option could be extra carriage returns in the json for accounts.  Since the migration works when you use a new COA, the issue should be in the account json file.

    Hi Kristen,

We are choosing to use the existing COA and not posting, as soon as we select the zip file we get the error.

At what point in the process are you getting the error?  You have exported the data via Dynamics GP, choose to use the existing COA, what do you choose for your posting option?  Do you receive the error when you map to the .zip file?  At what point and what exact steps are you doing?

    Hi Kristen,

We are on R2 18.00.0704. The migration actually works if we choose to supply a new COA, however if we use the current COA that we have we get the error.

What release of Dynamics GP2018 are you using?  The support for  JSON was added with the GP2018R2 release so if you are on an earlier version of GP2018 the exported files will not be in the correct format.

    Hi Olister,

We are using the migration business data under from setup under Setup and extensions.  We are following the following instructions -  docs.microsoft.com/.../ui-extensions-dynamicsgp-data-migration.

    Hi Joe,

Can you tell what all steps you are following to Migrate Data from GP2018 to BC?

I think you are using wrong WebService Key in Business Central > Users has something to do with when you are connecting BC to GP
